Scholarships Accepting KIIP or King Sejong Certificates Instead of TOPIK
Some university scholarship tiers accept a KIIP completion level or pre-assessment score, a King Sejong Institute certificate, or both instead of the stated TOPIK route. This collection includes only explicit scholarship evidence. An alternative scholarship threshold does not automatically satisfy admission, graduation, department or visa language requirements, and a blank TOPIK field is never treated as an exemption.

Jeju Tourism University Korean Proficiency Entrance Scholarship
International degree students. The linked 2025 admission guide requires the applicant and both parents to be foreign nationals and high-school completion or equivalent. That guide excludes Nursing and has separate Korean/English tracks; its department list and dates describe 2025 only. A scholarship language threshold is not by itself admission eligibility.

For enrolled international degree students, the Korean-proficiency award is paid in the semester after attainment: TOPIK 3 gives 30%, TOPIK 4 gives 40%, TOPIK 5 gives 50%, and TOPIK 6 gives 60% tuition. KIIP level 3/4 or pre-assessment 61/81 are alternatives for the 30%/40% tiers. This is not a promise of automatic payment every subsequent semester.
Freshman or transfer admission; submit the qualifying Korean-language certificate. TOPIK 4 or Sejong Intermediate 2 qualifies for the 80% tier; other accepted Korean qualifications qualify for 50%.

Later semesters and re-application
This entrance award covers the first semester. Later-semester merit scholarships are separately assessed; the entrance rate does not automatically continue.
Can I use any KIIP or King Sejong certificate for every scholarship?
No. The accepted level, pre-assessment score, certificate type and scholarship tier differ by university. Use the exact rule and current official policy.
Does the alternative certificate waive admission or graduation language rules?
No. This page compares scholarship thresholds only. Admission, department, graduation and immigration requirements remain separate.
